DUO Windows Installation



Overview

This guide outlines installing DUO devices on Microsoft Windows. Before starting verify that your system meets all the system requirements.

Step 1 - Download the Software

Download the latest DUO Software to start using your device. On Windows the DUO requires a device driver which is included in the installer.


The file will show up on your download bar (The installer is signed by the Code Laboratories signing certificate)

Step 2 - Install the Software


The DUO Installer is signed by Code Laboratories, Inc. for the Windows environment. It is recommended that you have a valid installer file by comparing the checksums of the file with one from our website. Upon running the installer you will be prompted to go through steps which will customize the installation.


On Windows 7/8 will ask for UAC verification to be able to install the driver.

Then you will guided through the installer, which consists of the license agreement and component selection.

Step 3 - Connect the DUO

Connect the DUO to your computer with the supplied USB cable. Avoid USB hubs or multipliers, plug directly into your computer for best performance.


Step 4 - Start the Dashboard


After the installation you will have new applications available on your system. By default all applications are installed in the user directory at C:\USERS\USERNAME\DOCUMENTS\DUO3D within this folder there is a folder called Applications that contains the Dashboard, Calibration and Firmware Update applications. Running the Dashboard application will let you test if your DUO device is properly installed, tweak its parameters and view the output. Starting the DUODashboard application in Windows, be sure to have a valid license available.

After properly installed device and running, the dashboard should look like this:

Once your device is installed properly you can start reading the DUO Dashboard article to get started on the following steps:

  • Capturing - Outlines how to get started capturing data from the cameras and motion sensors.
  • Configuring - Review of the DUO Dashboard application settings and configuration parameters.
  • Calibrating - Guide on how to calibrate your device for use with our Dense3D API.
